The Tennessee Titans will induct former running back Chris Johnson into the team's Ring of Honor during halftime of their regular-season opener against the New York Jets on Sept. 13.
"Johnson holds a special place in the hearts of our organization and our fans," Titans owner Amy Adams Strunk said in a statement. "His stats speak for themselves, and he will forever remain a leader in our record books, but the man behind the yardage deserves just as much celebration."

Johnson revealed in June that he had been diagnosed with ALS last year. The 40-year-old is unable to speak and uses a speech-generating device that he controls with his eyes to communicate.
Johnson spent the first six seasons of his career in Tennessee after being drafted in the first round in 2008. Known for his speed and big-play ability, Johnson rushed for 2,006 yards in 2009, making him one of nine players in league history to reach 2,000-plus rushing yards in a season.
A three-time Pro Bowler, Johnson accumulated 7,965 rushing yards with the Titans, fourth most in franchise history.
