The days of Cam Skattebo doing backflips off the field are likely over, the New York Giants running back told reporters Friday.
"Obviously, I do some dumb things here and there," Skattebo said after practice, according to NFL Network's Mike Garafolo. "But I learn from it."
However, Garafolo adds that Skattebo's pledge doesn't include backflips on the field, which has become his signature celebration.
The Giants talked with Skattebo about his backflips following his botched attempt at Fanatics Fest earlier in July.
"Yeah, we have (had conversations), but again, he's a young man that's still getting used to the spotlight and in New York City and you got to be conscious of your actions, not only from a health standpoint but a perception standpoint," general manager Joe Schoen said, according to ESPN's Jordan Raanan.
He continued: "But he knows I'd rather him not do that, especially this close to camp. But it's also a testament to how good of a job our training staff did and medical staff did in terms of getting him back and ready to go here as we start camp."
Skattebo's failure to land a backflip onstage at Fanatics Fest followed his season-ending ankle injury last year.
Skattebo added Friday: "Will I do that backflip again? Probably not."
The incident prompted head coach John Harbaugh to say he would speak to the second-year back.

Harbaugh said Thursday that he's since had numerous conversations with Skattebo.
"So, (Skattebo) and I have had five or six really good conversations since he got back and that might have been talked about in there with some other stuff," Harbaugh said.
He added: "There might be a good change. It's part of the ongoing process. Just communication, be on the same page, trying to be the best at everything we do. He's great. He wants to be great. He listens. He talks. He tells you what he thinks. It's all good."
Skattebo, who put up 617 yards from scrimmage and seven total touchdowns in eight games last season, has practiced fully to start training camp.
