The Arizona Cardinals will start rookie quarterback Carson Beck in Thursday's Hall of Fame Game against the Carolina Panthers, head coach Mike LaFleur announced Tuesday.
The Cardinals selected Beck in the third round of April's draft to inject more youth into a quarterback room that's headlined by veterans Jacoby Brissett and Gardner Minshew II.
LaFleur said Monday that Beck had his best practice of training camp Sunday. He complimented the 24-year-old's accuracy and control of the offense.
Beck was listed as the third-string quarterback on the team's first published depth chart.
The Panthers, meanwhile, will turn to 2022 first-round pick Kenny Pickett as their starting quarterback for Thursday's preseason game.
Kickoff is slated for 8 p.m. ET.
