Jerry Jeudy says he approached Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders to clear the air over a viral video that appears to show the wideout vouching for the veteran to be the Cleveland Browns' starting quarterback.
During a live video streamed in July, Jeudy flashed four fingers after a viewer asked whom he wanted Cleveland's starting quarterback to be, leading many to believe the 27-year-old was referring to Watson's jersey number.
However, the receiver said Wednesday that he made the gesture in response to a viewer who asked about the age of his daughter, whom Jeudy said appeared earlier in the livestream. He explained that the portion of the video featuring his daughter had been cut out in the now-viral clip.
"I don't know what they're thinking in their mind, so I had to just go up there and ... clear it up to them and know what really happened and not what the media portrayed it to be," Jeudy said of his quarterbacks, according to ESPN's Daniel Oyefusi.
Jeudy added that it was "kind of wild" that many believed he would make his feelings known about the Browns' quarterback battle online.
"I think I'm mature enough and wise enough to not answer questions like that," Jeudy said.
