Seattle Seahawks quarterback Sam Darnold was ruled out for the remainder of Wednesday's season opener against the New England Patriots after suffering a hip injury on the first drive.
Darnold went to the medical tent and had a noticeable limp. He then headed to the locker room and was officially ruled out shortly before halftime.

Drew Lock took over after Darnold's exit.
Darnold appeared to injure his hip when he was sacked on third down during the Seahawks' opening series. He completed one of his two pass attempts for 13 yards prior to exiting.
Wednesday's matchup is a rematch of Super Bowl LX in which the Seahawks defeated the Patriots.
