Las Vegas Raiders running back Ashton Jeanty said Thursday that he'll play in the team's Week 1 matchup against the Miami Dolphins despite suffering a sprained ankle in late August.

"I feel really good," Jeanty said at his locker after practice when asked if he feels 100%, according to Vegas Sports Today. "I'm super excited to go out there and play a good game with this team."

Jeanty was helped off the field at a practice Aug. 23 after injuring his ankle while running a route during drills. He reportedly couldn't put any weight on his leg, but the team later said there was no long-term concern about the issue.

He was listed as a full participant in Wednesday's practice, marking the first time he returned to the field. Rookie Mike Washington Jr. filled in as the Raiders' top running back in his absence.

Jeanty is looking to bounce back after a tough rookie season. He finished with 1,321 yards from scrimmage on 321 touches with 10 touchdowns, but he averaged just 3.7 yards per carry. Among all qualifying running backs, Jeanty led the league in the percentage of carries that resulted in zero or negative yards (26.7%), according to TruMedia.

The Raiders finished 2025 last in rush success rate and total EPA on designed rushes. They made a splash in the offseason to try to boost the offensive line, signing center Tyler Linderbaum to a three-year, $81-million contract in free agency.

Las Vegas will be without star tight end Brock Bowers in its season opener. He underwent a meniscus trim Tuesday and is reportedly expected to be sidelined for one or two games.

The Raiders and Dolphins face off at 4:25 p.m. ET on Sunday.
