New York Giants running back Cam Skattebo believes Jameis Winston will do a great job as the team's starting quarterback after Jaxson Dart's season-ending knee injury.
"We have Jameis' back," Skattebo said, according to Ben Pawlak of SNY. "He's going to go out there and perform and dominate in-game. I'm fully behind that. I really do think that. We're bought in."
Skattebo added that fans shouldn't give up on the Giants' season despite Dart's injury.
"I think the entire city of New York knows we still have a really great shot at this, and they love Jameis Winston," the 24-year-old said. "We're not going to take a step down; we're going to continue to push and work. Just like it was in Week 1, if our home fans give us everything they've got to support us, they'll get the same from us (on the field)."
Dart will undergo surgery after hurting his MCL, PCL, and meniscus during Monday's loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Head coach John Harbaugh said Wednesday that the second-year passer has a chance to return for the playoffs if the Giants qualify.
Winston was 11-for-27 passing with 111 yards and one interception against the Rams.
The 32-year-old has recorded 24,903 yards, 156 touchdowns, and 111 interceptions over 12 years. He's primarily been a backup for various teams over the last seven seasons.
The Giants (1-1) host the Tennessee Titans (0-2) on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in Week 3.
