Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson was ruled out of the team's game this Sunday against the Miami Dolphins due to an ankle injury.

Jefferson exited last Sunday's win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first quarter. He spent time in the medical tent before going to the locker room and was later ruled out.

The star pass-catcher was diagnosed with an ankle sprain, and it's not expected to sideline him long-term. Head coach Kevin O'Connell told reporters Monday that the team received good news about the severity of Jefferson's injury.

Jefferson has recorded a team-leading 179 receiving yards and two touchdowns on 17 targets this season. The wideout hasn't missed a full game since 2024.

Jauan Jennings, whom Minnesota signed to a one-year contract worth up to $13 million in May, is projected to take on a bigger role with Jefferson sidelined.

The Vikings are 3-0 and sit atop the NFC North.
