Arizona Coyotes defenseman Shayne Gostisbehere will miss four-to-six weeks with an upper-body injury suffered in Tuesday's loss to the Anaheim Ducks, the team announced Thursday.
As a pending unrestricted free agent on a rebuilding team, Gostisbehere is widely expected to be moved prior to the March 3 trade deadline.
The 29-year-old recorded 29 points in 48 games this season. His 22:38 of average ice time ranks second on the team behind Jakob Chychrun - another trade candidate.
The Coyotes acquired Gostisbehere, a second-round pick, and a seventh-round pick in the 2021 offseason from the Philadelphia Flyers.
Gostisbehere is in the final season of a seven-year contract that carries a $4.5-million cap hit.
