Toronto Maple Leafs forward Scott Laughton is considered week-to-week with a lower-body injury, the team announced Friday.
Laughton suffered the injury during Thursday's 3-1 defeat to the Detroit Red Wings, according to TSN's Darren Dreger. The veteran notched two goals and two assists in three preseason games.
The Maple Leafs acquired Laughton at last season's trade deadline in a package that included a 2027 conditional first-round pick. He produced two goals and two assists in 20 regular-season games while adding two assists in 13 playoff contests.
Laughton, 31, is set to become an unrestricted free agent after the 2025-26 season.
Toronto is set to kick off its season Oct. 8 against the Montreal Canadians at Scotiabank Arena.
