Canada announced its roster Friday for the 2026 IIHF World Championship, headlined by San Jose Sharks phenom Macklin Celebrini and Edmonton Oilers defenseman Evan Bouchard.

Celebrini, 19, is the lone member of the Olympic squad who will also play in the Worlds. He scored five goals and added five assists in Canada's silver-medal finish during the Milan Cortina Games.

Bouchard led all NHL defensemen in points (95) this year. Despite that, he was somewhat controversially left off Canada's Olympic roster and wasn't named a Norris finalist Thursday, either.

The tournament begins May 15 in Switzerland. Canada opens play against Sweden. The Canadians didn't medal last year after losing to Denmark in the quarterfinals.
