The market seems to be taking shape for Columbus Blue Jackets star defenseman Zach Werenski.
The Dallas Stars, San Jose Sharks, Philadelphia Flyers, and Carolina Hurricanes are among the teams that have expressed interest in the reigning Norris Trophy winner, according to insider Frank Seravalli.
The Tampa Bay Lightning and Toronto Maple Leafs are also expected to be in the mix, Seravalli adds.
The development comes just one day after reports surfaced that the Blue Jackets are willing to listen to offers for Werenski.
Werenski has two seasons remaining on his contract at a cap hit just over $9.5 million per year. The 28-year-old hasn't requested a trade but is reportedly unlikely to sign an extension with Columbus when eligible on July 1, 2027.
The two-time All-Star scored 22 goals and added 59 assists for 81 points over 75 games to claim his first Norris Trophy as the league's best defenseman. Werenski was also instrumental in Team USA's gold-medal win at the Winter Olympics in February.
