The Columbus Blue Jackets and restricted free-agent goaltender Jet Greaves settled on a three-year contract worth $5 million per season, the team announced Thursday.
Greaves' arbitration hearing was scheduled for later in the day. The two sides were reportedly almost $5 million apart in their initial filings.
Greaves emerged as Columbus' No. 1 netminder last season, posting a .908 save percentage in 55 appearances while ranking eighth among all goalies with 31.71 goals saved above expected, according to Evolving-Hockey.
The undrafted 25-year-old has made 76 career NHL appearances dating back to the 2022-23 campaign. He's registered a .913 clip over that span.
Greaves was chosen to represent Canada at the World Championship this past spring. He had a strong showing at the tournament, producing a .920 save percentage across eight games.
After retaining Greaves, the Blue Jackets still need to sign RFAs Adam Fantilli and Cole Sillinger. Columbus has approximately $17.2 million in cap space to get those deals done, per PuckPedia.
