The Edmonton Oilers signed goaltender Frederik Andersen to a one-year contract worth up to $2.8 million, the team announced Wednesday.

Andersen's deal has a base salary of $1 million. He will receive performance bonuses of $600,000 at 10 games played, $400,000 at 20 games played, and $200,000 for each playoff round won where he plays 50% of the games, according to PuckPedia.

Andersen won the Stanley Cup with the Carolina Hurricanes in June. He posted a .910 save percentage in 16 playoff games before sustaining an injury in the Stanley Cup Final.

The 36-year-old went 16-14-5 in the regular season with an .874 SV% and a 3.05 goals against average.

Andersen has played 35 or fewer games in each season since 2022. He played for new Oilers head coach Mike Babcock from 2016-19 with the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Andersen has a career .913 SV% in 552 games over 13 seasons with the Anaheim Ducks, Maple Leafs, and Hurricanes.

The Oilers still have goaltender Tristan Jarry under contract and acquired Devon Levi from the Buffalo Sabres earlier Wednesday.
