The Anaheim Ducks will retire Ryan Getzlaf's No. 15 on Jan. 30 against the Nashville Predators, the team announced Tuesday.
Team owners Henry and Susan Samueli called Getzlaf personally to inform him of the news.

Getzlaf, who spent his entire 17-year career in Anaheim, was part of the Ducks' 2006-07 Stanley Cup winning squad. The Ducks will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the championship Jan. 28 against the Chicago Blackhawks, two nights before raising Getzlaf's No. 15 to the Honda Center rafters.
"My family and I are so grateful to the Samuelis and the Ducks organization for this incredible honor," Getzlaf said. "None of this would be possible without all the amazing teammates, coaches, and support staff I had in my career. I thank them all and can't wait to celebrate in front of our great fans in January."
Getzlaf ranks first in Ducks history in games played (1,157), assists (737), and points (1,019). His 282 career goals are fourth behind Teemu Selanne, Corey Perry, and Paul Kariya.
Getzlaf also notched 120 points in 125 career playoff games, including a team-leading 17 in 21 appearances during the '07 Cup run.
Selanne, Kariya, and Scott Niedermayer are the only other players in team history to have their numbers retired. Getzlaf succeeded Niedermayer as captain in 2010 and wore the "C" until he retired in 2022.
Getzlaf wore No. 51 as a rookie in 2005-06 but switched to 15 the following season.
