The Boston Bruins signed forward Fraser Minten to a seven-year contract extension with a $7.2-million cap hit, the team announced Tuesday.
Minten tallied 17 goals and 35 points over 82 games last year, his first full NHL campaign. He ranked fifth on the Bruins in goals and hits (142), and his plus-21 rating led all NHL rookies. Minten had zero points in Boston's six playoff games.
The 22-year-old is entering the final year of his entry-level contract and was set to become a restricted free agent in July. Minten's new deal begins in the 2027-28 campaign.
The Bruins acquired Minten from the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2025 as part of the Brandon Carlo trade.
"Since joining our organization, Fraser has continued to grow and earn the accelerated trust of his teammates and coaching staff," Bruins general manager Don Sweeney said in a statement. "His hockey sense, competitiveness, responsible two-way game, and offensive growth make him a valuable player for our group.
"This is a mutual long-term commitment that reflects our confidence in Fraser and the important role he will play, as well as Fraser's belief in our team moving forward."
Minten played 19 games for the Maple Leafs before joining the Bruins. He has 20 goals and 40 points in 107 career games.
