Florida Panthers forward Brad Marchand had to be helped off the ice by his teammates after crashing awkwardly into the goalpost during Tuesday's game against the Los Angeles Kings.

Marchand didn't put any weight on his left leg as he left the ice.

Kings defenseman Brandt Clarke was given a four-minute double minor for high-sticking on the play.

Marchand missed Florida's first two games while recovering from offseason surgery to repair a lingering injury from last season. He scored in his debut Sunday and was making his second appearance of the season Tuesday.

The 38-year-old missed the final 19 games of the 2025-26 campaign with an undisclosed issue. He notched 27 goals and 27 assists in 52 games last season.

The Panthers are already without captain Aleksander Barkov for the next six-to-eight weeks due to a lower-body injury. Marchand was skating on a makeshift line with Brady Tkachuk at left wing and Sam Reinhart, normally a right-winger, playing center.
