Minnesota Wild captain Jared Spurgeon is week-to-week with an undisclosed injury, the team announced Thursday, per The Athletic's Michael Russo.

Spurgeon exited Tuesday's win over the Utah Mammoth after blocking a pair of shots in the second period. He didn't return to the game.

The 36-year-old has tallied a goal and four assists in 10 games this season. He's played top-pairing minutes in the absence of Brock Faber, who has yet to appear in 2026-27 after suffering a fractured skull upon being struck in the head by a puck during the preseason.

However, Faber has cleared his return to play protocol, according to Russo. There's still no timetable for his return, but he can begin skating this week.

In the meantime, the Wild recalled defenseman Carson Lambos from the AHL's Iowa Wild. The 2021 first-round pick has notched a goal and an assist in eight AHL games this season.
