Tiger Woods won for the 82nd time on the PGA Tour with a three-shot victory over Hideki Matsuyama at the Zozo Championship in Japan.

Woods has now tied Sam Snead for the most Tour titles of all time, a record that stood unmatched for 54 years.

"It's just crazy. It's a lot," Woods said, according to Golf Digest. "I've been able to be consistent most of my career. ... Today was one of those days where I was able to pull it out."

The 43-year-old shot 64-64-66-67 to hold a piece of the lead at the conclusion of all four rounds during the inaugural Tour stop in Japan. His 3-under final round was over the course of two days due to a typhoon that ended Friday's action.

"Five days at the top of the (leaderboard) is a long time. It was definitely stressful," Tiger added.

Tiger strategically plodded his way around Accordia Golf Narashino Country Club to fend off the chasing Matsuyama. The champion has now won 44 of the 46 PGA Tour events that he's led after 54 holes.

His victory comes in his 2019-20 season debut after spending the last nine weeks away from golf recovering from a fifth surgery on his left knee. The reigning Masters champion now moves to sixth in the Official World Golf Ranking.

Here's how the top of the leaderboard ended in Japan:

Place Player To Par R4 Score
1 Tiger Woods -19 67
2 Hideki Matsuyama -16 67
T3 Rory McIlroy -13 67
T3 Sungjae Im -13 65
