Tiger to make 1st start of 2025 at Genesis Invitational
Tiger Woods committed to next week's Genesis Invitational, the tournament announced Friday, marking his first start on the PGA TOUR in 2025.
Woods hosts the tournament, which is usually played at Riviera Country Club but relocated to Torrey Pines in San Diego this year due to the wildfires in the Los Angeles area.
Woods' last PGA tournament was the 2024 Open Championship in July. He played five times last season with his only made cut coming at the Masters. He was forced to withdraw from last year's Genesis Invitational with flu-like symptoms.
He also underwent another back surgery in September.
This will be Woods' first time playing Torrey Pines since 2020. He's an eight-time winner at the venue.
The Genesis Invitational is the third signature event on the PGA TOUR calendar. It will feature a stout 70-man field to be announced later Friday.
