Tiger Woods didn't submit an entry to the Open Championship, which means he's slated to miss all four major championships for the second year in a row, reports Dan Gartland of Sports Illustrated.
The 50-year-old announced in March that he was stepping away from golf to seek treatment and focus on his health after he was arrested for driving under the influence following a car crash. Authorities said he had opioid pills in his pocket when he was arrested. Woods pleaded not guilty in his DUI case.
Woods received permission to leave the United States to seek treatment and was spotted getting off his private plane in Florida after a flight from Switzerland earlier in May. His plane reportedly returned to Switzerland on Sunday.
He's undergone seven back surgeries, most recently in October. He also went under the knife to repair a ruptured Achilles tendon in March 2025.
While Woods is exempt at the Open Championship until age 60, he's not eligible for the upcoming U.S. Open. However, the USGA awarded him a special exemption for the 2024 edition at Pinehurst and would likely do the same if he expressed a desire to play at Shinnecock Hills in June.
The 15-time major champion last played in a PGA TOUR event at the 2024 Open Championship.
