LIV Golf notified most of its staff on Wednesday that they'll be laid off during the first week of September, a spokesperson confirmed to The Athletic's Brody Miller and Gabby Herzig.
"We are scaling back operations as we transition to the next chapter of LIV Golf and work toward making LIV 2.0 a reality," a LIV Golf spokesperson said in a statement, according to The Athletic.
LIV continues to seek investors after Saudi Arabia's Public Investment Fund ended its financial support earlier this year.
This season, the league canceled its New Orleans event and finale in Michigan.
Before news broke of the job cuts, Tyrrell Hatton said Wednesday he has "multiple years left" on his LIV contract and expects the league to continue next season, according to BBC's Iain Carter.
Meanwhile, Bryson DeChambeau, one of the league's biggest stars, hinted at LIV's end in a cryptic social media post Monday.
Ahead of last week's season-ending event in Indianapolis, LIV CEO Scott O'Neil admitted the league has "work to do" but added, "I wouldn't bet against us."
