The Las Vegas Aces are re-signing star Candace Parker to a one-year contract, her agent told Winsidr's Rachel Galligan.
Parker averaged nine points, 5.4 rebounds, 3.7 assists, and 1.5 steals in 18 games last season with the Aces before a foot fracture forced her to miss the rest of the campaign. Despite losing the two-time MVP and seven-time All-Star for half the season, Las Vegas defeated the New York Liberty in the WNBA Finals to win its second straight title.
Parker said during a November interview on "Good Morning America" that she considered retiring but would return for another season if healthy.
A three-time WNBA champion with three separate franchises, Parker is also a two-time Olympic gold medalist with Team USA and is considered one of the greatest players in women's basketball history. The 37-year-old was named Finals MVP in 2016 after leading the Los Angeles Sparks to a championship. As a sophomore and junior, Parker also won back-to-back national championships in college at Tennessee.
