Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark was a late scratch for Wednesday's matchup against the Portland Fire with a back injury, the team announced pregame.
The Fever didn't list Clark on Tuesday's injury report.
Indiana head coach Stephanie White said Clark woke up with back stiffness and received treatment instead of practicing Tuesday, according to ESPN's Alexa Philippou.
White added that she doesn't anticipate Clark's injury being an ongoing issue.
"She's healthy. We're not managing anything," White told reporters Wednesday. "This is just a back issue that we want to make sure we give the time to be ready."
The third-year guard was limited to just 13 appearances last season due to various injuries.
Indiana came within one win of the WNBA Finals despite Clark's extended absence.
Clark was off to a solid start this campaign, averaging 24.3 points, nine assists, five boards, one steal, and one block through four appearances.
The Fever enter Wednesday's matchup with a 2-2 record.
