The New York Yankees are one of the teams interested in Oakland Athletics reliever Blake Treinen, reports Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic.
Oakland is reportedly looking for ways to shed salary and is actively listening to offers for Treinen, as well as catcher Josh Phegley and utility man Jurickson Profar.
Treinen, 31, is one year removed from finishing sixth in American League Cy Young voting. In 2018 - his first full season with the A's - the right-hander authored a 0.78 ERA and 1.82 FIP while notching 38 saves over 80 1/3 innings.
The one-time All-Star regressed in 2019 while suffering from a right shoulder strain. Treinen wound up losing his job as closer, posting a 4.91 ERA and 5.14 FIP.
Treinen was originally acquired from the Washington Nationals along with pitching prospect Jesus Luzardo and infield prospect Sheldon Neuse in exchange for Sean Doolittle and Ryan Madson.
