The Arizona Diamondbacks will reopen Chase Field for individual player workouts on Friday, reports Bob Nightengale of USA TODAY Sports.

D-Backs players arrived on Thursday to workout at their spring training facility at Salt River Fields and can now move over to Arizona's big-league park to prepare for the possible restart of spring training, Nightengale adds.

This will be the first time the facility has opened for that purpose since baseball was shut down in March due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey announced on May 12 that professional sports could resume playing in the state on May 16.

The reported reopening of Chase Field follows a similar report regarding the Tampa Bay Rays. The team will apparently be opening Tropicana Field for player workouts on Monday.
