It's been a slow offseason for the Boston Red Sox, but it looks like business is about to pick up.

The Red Sox have talked about a ton of possibilities, and there is a sense they are preparing to make a series of moves before spring training, industry sources told ESPN's Buster Olney.

Names weren't mentioned, but Boston plans to make moves to upgrade the 2021 squad, Olney adds.

Multiple clubs have checked in with the Red Sox about outfielder Andrew Benintendi, with one rival executive admitting to MLB.com's Mark Feinsand they would be "shocked" if Boston didn't trade the 26-year-old before the end of the weekend.

In addition to shopping Benintendi, the Red Sox have remained engaged with outfielder Jackie Bradley Jr. about a potential return, are linked to free-agent starter Jake Odorizzi, and will attend Corey Kluber's pitching showcase on Wednesday.

Boston has signed right-hander Matt Andriese and outfielder Hunter Renfroe to major-league deals so far this offseason.
