Wade Davis retires after 13 seasons

Three-time All-Star reliever Wade Davis is calling it a career after 13 seasons.

Davis accrued a 3.94 ERA with 141 saves and 929 strikeouts over 990 1/3 innings with the Tampa Bay Rays, Kansas City Royals, Chicago Cubs, and Colorado Rockies. The right-hander won a World Series with the Royals in 2015.

The 36-year-old enjoyed a brilliant run with Kansas City from 2015 to 2017, posting a 1.18 ERA over 185 appearances.

Davis led the National League with 43 saves in his first campaign with the Rockies in 2018 after signing a three-year, $52-million contract.
