Report: Taylor's market growing, could sign before CBA expires
Chris Taylor is a hot commodity this winter and it looks like the super-utility player could ink a new deal soon.
The 31-year-old could sign on Wednesday before Major League Baseball's collective bargaining agreement expires and is drawing interest from the Los Angeles Dodgers, Toronto Blue Jays, Seattle Mariners, Los Angeles Angels, and Washington Nationals, sources told MLB Network's Jon Morosi.
Taylor has also previously been linked to the Boston Red Sox, Miami Marlins, San Francisco Giants, St. Louis Cardinals, and Texas Rangers this offseason.
The versatile Taylor appeared in 148 games for the Dodgers in 2021, slashing .254/.344/.438 with 20 home runs, 25 doubles, four triples, 73 RBIs, and 13 stolen bases. He also slotted into six different positions for Los Angeles a season ago, with the majority of his reps coming in center field and at second base.
Over the course of his eight-year career, the one-time All-Star has maintained his versatile defender status while hitting .261/.337/.443 with 79 homers, 309 RBIs, and 58 steals.
