Report: Marlins' Garrett out for 2025 following UCL surgery

Miami Marlins left-hander Braxton Garrett will miss the 2025 season after undergoing elbow UCL revision surgery with an internal brace in December, according to Craig Mish of the Miami Herald.
The Marlins are looking at options in free agency with a spot available in their starting rotation, reports Mish.
Garrett posted a 5.35 ERA with 1.19 WHIP and 34 strikeouts after being limited to 37 innings (seven starts) by injuries in 2024. He was sidelined with a left forearm flexor strain in June and didn't pitch again for the rest of the year.
The 27-year-old was a big part of Miami's 2023 rotation, authoring a 3.66 ERA with 1.15 WHIP and 156 strikeouts over a career-high 159 2/3 innings (30 starts.
