Pirates add Ferguson on 1-year deal reportedly worth $3M

The Pittsburgh Pirates signed reliever Caleb Ferguson to a one-year contract, the club announced Friday.
The deal is worth $3 million, a source told Alex Stumpf of MLB.com.
Ferguson posted a 4.64 ERA with 1.49 WHIP but had a career-high 11.1 K/9 over a combined 62 appearances between the New York Yankees and Houston Astros last season.
The 28-year-old left-hander has authored a 3.68 ERA with 314 strikeouts over 261 2/3 innings across six years with the Yankees, Astros, and Los Angeles Dodgers.
Pittsburgh's bullpen finished 18th in fWAR in 2024.
