The Arizona Diamondbacks are going to give Trey Mancini a shot at a comeback.

Arizona agreed to a minor-league deal with the veteran slugger, a source told ESPN's Jeff Passan.

The 32-year-old didn't play in 2024, but he remains in shape and wants to play in the majors again, Passan added.

Mancini last played a big-league game with the Chicago Cubs in 2023, appearing in 79 contests. He slashed .234/.299/.336 with four home runs and 28 RBIs for the Cubs that season.

The Florida native's best years came with the Baltimore Orioles during the 2016-22 campaigns.

Mancini posted a .797 OPS and hit 117 homers with the Orioles during that span, missing the 2020 season after he was diagnosed with Stage 3 colon cancer.

He was declared cancer-free in November 2020, returning to baseball for the 2021 campaign. Mancini was traded to Houston in midseason 2022 and helped the Astros win the World Series.
