The New York Mets won't bring back pitching coach Jeremy Hefner, hitting coaches Jeremy Barnes and Eric Chavez, and third base coach Mike Sarbaugh, the team announced Friday.
In addition, bench coach John Gibbons resigned, and catching instructor Glenn Sherlock retired.
First base coach Antoan Richardson, strategy coach Danny Barnes, and coaching assistant Rafael Fernandez were invited back for next year.
The Mets already announced that manager Carlos Mendoza will return in 2026 despite a second-half collapse that saw the team miss the playoffs on the final day of the regular season. The 45-year-old skipper owns a 172-152 record over two campaigns and led the club to a 2024 NLCS appearance.
New York was 45-24 through June 12 but went 38-55 over its last 93 games.
The Mets finished the campaign with an MLB-high $338.1-million payroll, according to Cot's Baseball Contracts.
