Toronto Blue Jays right-hander Max Scherzer will start Thursday's Game 4 of the ALCS versus the Seattle Mariners, the club announced Tuesday.

Scherzer, who has yet to pitch in the 2025 playoffs after being left off the ALDS roster, posted a 5.19 ERA with 1.29 WHIP and 8.7 K/9 over 85 innings (17 starts) during the regular season.

However, the three-time Cy Young winner and future Hall of Famer owns a 3.78 ERA with 171 strikeouts over 143 innings in the postseason across his 18-year career.

Scherzer also has a career 3.23 ERA with 32 strikeouts over 30 2/3 innings at Seattle's T-Mobile Park. He's held the Mariners' current roster to a combined .190 average (11-for-58), according to Sportsnet Stats.

The 41-year-old will be opposed by Mariners right-hander Luis Castillo.

The Blue Jays dropped the first two games of the best-of-seven series.
