Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Brandon Woodruff announced Saturday that he will undergo right shoulder surgery, according to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com.
Woodruff had the same capsule procedure performed in 2023, which resulted in the two-time All-Star missing nearly two years.
"It's unfortunate, and for me personally, I've got to go ahead and attack this rehab with the goal in mind of pitching again," the 33-year-old said, according to team reporter Sophia Minnaert. "So, this is something I've got to have, regardless if I'm 50 years old or now."
He also emphasized that he's not planning to retire.

Woodruff re-signed with Milwaukee last offseason by accepting a one-year, $22.025-million qualifying offer.
