New York Yankees All-Star outfielder Cody Bellinger will be sidelined four-to-six weeks with a Grade 2 hamstring strain, manager Aaron Boone said Monday, according to Bryan Hoch of MLB.com.
The Yankees placed Bellinger on the 10-day injured list Sunday after he suffered the setback Saturday against the Philadelphia Phillies. He exited the contest after trying to leg out a double.
The 31-year-old is slashing .259/.350/.420 with 11 home runs, 53 RBIs, and 10 stolen bases over 102 games this season. Bellinger's 3.0 fWAR is second on the Yankees among position players.
New York is already missing Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton, as both players are nursing long-term injuries.
Entering Monday, the Yankees sit three games behind the Tampa Bay Rays for the AL East lead.
