Seattle Mariners right-hander George Kirby is drawing interest from multiple teams ahead of Monday's trade deadline, and there's a sense he is available and could be moved, sources told ESPN's Jeff Passan.
The Mariners had already been listening to offers for two other starters, Emerson Hancock and Luis Castillo, but this is the first time Kirby's name has surfaced in trade rumors.
The 28-year-old owns a 3.98 ERA and 3.64 FIP this season, but he's allowed an AL-high 131 hits, resulting in the highest WHIP (1.30) of his career. His contract makes him appealing, however; he's under club control through 2028 and making a modest $6.55-million salary this year.
Seattle enters Saturday five games below .500 after losing eight of its last 10, but it only trails the AL West-leading Houston Astros by three games.
