The Milwaukee Brewers are once again kings of the National League Central.
Milwaukee clinched its fourth straight division title Tuesday thanks to a 5-1 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates and the Chicago Cubs' 6-3 loss to the Atlanta Braves. The Brewers are the first team to win the NL Central in four consecutive seasons since the division was created in 1994.
This year's title is Milwaukee's sixth division crown since 2018 and its fifth in the last six seasons. The club also won the NL Central in 2011, which marked its first division title since finishing atop the AL East in 1982 and the first half of 1981.
The Brewers took care of their business in Pittsburgh. Jacob Misiorowski struck out seven over five shutout innings before yielding to the bullpen, while Luis Lara and Joey Ortiz each had two RBIs. However, the team had to go back to the clubhouse postgame and spend an agonizing hour rooting for the Braves.
In Chicago, the Cubs led 3-0 through five innings and were up by one in the seventh when Atlanta's Ozzie Albies ripped a go-ahead homer to silence Wrigley Field. Drake Baldwin's two-run shot in the ninth put the nail in the Cubs' coffin and kick-started Milwaukee's celebration at PNC Park.

Now that the division is taken care of, the Brewers can turn their attention to locking up MLB's best overall record and home-field advantage through the World Series for a second straight year. At 94-57, they're now two games ahead of the Los Angeles Dodgers for both the NL's No. 1 seed and the majors' best record with 11 contests remaining.
Milwaukee also has a chance to record the first 100-win season in franchise history.
