Baltimore Orioles slugger Pete Alonso gave his old friends in Flushing one more thrilling moment when he hit his 300th career home run Tuesday against the New York Mets at Citi Field.
Alonso, who spent seven seasons with the Mets before leaving in free agency last winter, reached the milestone with a game-tying blast in the top of the ninth inning. He punctuated the moment with an epic bat toss.

Despite the circumstances, he still received a curtain call from the Mets faithful.

Alonso's 300 round-trippers are the third most by any player in his first eight big-league seasons, trailing Albert Pujols (319) and Hall of Famer Ralph Kiner (329), according to Sarah Langs of MLB.com.
Alonso turned into one of baseball's premier sluggers at Citi Field, with his first 264 homers coming in Mets blue and orange. He became the team's all-time home-run leader last season.
The 31-year-old signed a five-year, $155-million deal with the Orioles after New York decided not to extend an offer to him.
Alonso has continued to rake in Baltimore, slashing .267/.362/.499 with 36 homers and 101 RBIs over 152 games this season.
Alonso and the Orioles went on to notch a 7-5 win over the Mets in extra innings, with Coby Mayo smacking a three-run inside-the-park home run in the 11th frame.
