LeBron not dwelling on Green's missed trey: 'We trusted him and it just didn't go'

LeBron James isn't living with any regrets after electing to pass to Danny Green for a potential game-winning jumper on the Los Angeles Lakers' final possession of Game 5.

"I mean if you just look at the play, I was able to draw two defenders below the free-throw line and find one of our shooters at the top of the key for a wide-open three to win a championship," James said of Green's long-range attempt, which would've given the Lakers a late two-point lead over the Miami Heat in regulation. "I trusted him, we trusted him, and it just didn't go."

Green, who's shot 33.3% on 3-pointers these playoffs, couldn't capitalize on the open look. The Lakers, however, got the rebound, but Markieff Morris turned the ball over, leading to free throws on the other end by rookie sensation Tyler Herro that sealed the 111-108 victory for Miami.

"I know he wishes he could have it again. I wish I could make a better pass. But you just live with it," James said.

The Lakers, who remain one win away from clinching the franchise's 17th championship with a 3-2 lead in these Finals, will have another chance to close out the series Sunday night.
