The Sacramento Kings and three-time All-Star Ben Simmons agreed to a one-year, $3.5-million deal, his agents told ESPN's Marc J. Spears and Shams Charania.
Simmons returns to the NBA for a 10th season after sitting out the entire 2025-26 campaign.
The 30-year-old averaged a career-low 5.0 points with 5.6 assists and 4.7 rebounds on 52% shooting across 51 games with the Brooklyn Nets and Los Angeles Clippers in 2024-25.
Simmons rose to stardom with the Philadelphia 76ers after he was taken first overall in the 2016 draft. He won Rookie of the Year in 2017-18 after missing his first season due to a broken foot. Simmons also earned an All-NBA third-team selection in 2019-20 and was runner-up for Defensive Player of the Year the following season.
Recurring back injuries derailed much of Simmons' NBA career. He missed the 2021-22 campaign and did not appear in more than 51 games in any of the three following seasons.
