Washington Wizards sharpshooter Corey Kispert will miss the remainder of the campaign after undergoing surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left thumb, the team announced Tuesday.

Kispert is expected to be ready for the start of next season when his four-year, $54-million extension kicks in.

The 26-year-old left Saturday's 126-123 win over the Denver Nuggets with a sprained thumb after 15 minutes. He did not return to the contest.

Kispert underwhelmed this year, averaging 11.6 points, 1.7 assists, and three rebounds. His 36.4% clip from deep was his lowest since his rookie campaign.

Washington is also unlikely to have defensive specialist Bilal Coulibaly for the rest of the season, as the second-year wing is expected to miss four-to-six weeks with a hamstring injury.

The Wizards and Utah Jazz are tied for the fewest wins with 15 after Washington's recent run of form has seen it win four of its last seven contests. The NBA's two worst teams will meet Wednesday.

Washington has a 14% chance at the No. 1 pick in the 2025 draft, according to Tankathon.
