The New Orleans Pelicans are signing forward Herbert Jones to a three-year, $68-million contract extension, his agents told ESPN's Shams Charania.

Jones will have five years and $97 million remaining on his contract that includes a player option in 2029-30.

Jones previously signed a four-year, $54-milllion extension with the Pelicans in 2023.

The 26-year-old has developed into a two-way staple in New Orleans' rotation. He was limited to 20 games last season due to shoulder and labrum injuries.

The Alabama product is among only eight players with 350 steals and 150 blocks since entering the league in 2021. He was named to the 2023-24 All-Defensive first team.

New Orleans continues to solidify its frontcourt this offseason. The Pelicans signed veteran center Kevon Looney and drafted Derik Queen.
