Florida State officials are exploring a potential reunion with former head coach Jimbo Fisher, sources told The Athletic's Bruce Feldman.
Fisher is also reportedly very interested in returning to Florida State.
Over eight seasons with the Seminoles, Fisher posted an 83-23 record and won a national championship in 2013. He left for Texas A&M after posting a 5-6 record in 2017.
Fisher coached Texas A&M for six seasons before the school paid an eye-popping $75 million buyout to part ways with him in 2023.
Speculation about Fisher returning is circulating as the Seminoles face scrutiny over Mike Norvell's tenure as head coach following a sluggish 1-1 start ahead of Saturday's matchup against Alabama.
Florida State compiled a 31-17 record in Norvell's first four seasons as head coach but has stumbled to an 8-18 mark since 2024. The Seminoles have struggled to regain their impressive 2023 form, when they went 13-1 and captured the ACC championship but were snubbed from the four-team College Football Playoffs.
On Monday, Florida State parted ways with athletic director Michael Alford and named Bruce Warwick interim AD.
