49ers expect Purdy to return vs. Bills after 1-game absence
San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy is expected to return Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, head coach Kyle Shanahan said Friday, according to Nick Wagoner of ESPN.
Purdy missed last week's loss to the Green Bay Packers because of a shoulder injury. The 24-year-old was a full participant at practice Friday after being a limited participant earlier this week. Purdy is officially listed as questionable for the Sunday Night Football matchup versus the Bills.
Shanahan noted that "lots of things can happen between now and then" but added that Purdy is on track to face Buffalo.
The 5-6 49ers couldn't do much offensively and scored only 10 points against the Packers with Brandon Allen at QB. San Francisco is looking to snap a two-game skid with Purdy now expected to return.
Purdy - who owns a 22-9 record as an NFL starter - has completed 66% of his passes for 2,613 yards and 13 touchdowns against eight interceptions in 10 games in 2024.
The Niners are far from being fully healthy against the Bills, though. Shanahan announced Friday that left tackle Trent Williams (ankle) and defensive end Nick Bosa (hip/oblique) remain sidelined after also missing last week.
