San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Mike Evans is considered day-to-day with a rib strain, according to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport.
Evans left during the second quarter of Sunday's win over the Arizona Cardinals and didn't return. It's unclear when the 33-year-old wideout sustained the injury.
San Francisco's medical staff helped Evans off the field as he clutched his right side following a third-down pass in his direction. He spent a few moments in the medical tent before being carted to the locker room.
Evans appeared to take a hit to the sternum a few plays earlier in the series but remained in the game. He finished Sunday with three catches for 34 yards and a touchdown.
The Niners signed Evans, who previously spent 12 seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, to a three-year, $42.5-million contract in March. He was off to a productive start in San Francisco, recording 12 receptions for 137 yards and two touchdowns through three games.
San Francisco appears to have avoided another long-term injury at receiver. Pass-catchers Ricky Pearsall (knee), De'Zhaun Stribling (ankle), Demarcus Robinson (ankle), and Christian Kirk (calf) are all currently sidelined.
Meanwhile, head coach Kyle Shanahan said that left tackle Trent Williams (stinger) and linebacker Dre Greenlaw (quad) could be available in Week 4 against the Denver Broncos, per The Associated Press' Josh Dubow.
