Gardner Minshew II is the Arizona Cardinals' starting quarterback, head coach Mike LaFleur announced Monday, according to NFL reporter Andrew Siciliano.
LaFleur said former starter Jacoby Brissett will be the team's emergency third-string quarterback, while rookie Carson Beck acts as Minshew's immediate backup.
Minshew replaced Brissett on Sunday against the Dallas Cowboys and rallied the Cardinals to a 33-30 comeback victory in overtime.
Minshew completed 17 of his 23 passes for 188 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions.
Brissett had one touchdown pass and two interceptions over his last three games.
Brissett and the Cardinals were involved in a contract dispute this offseason before the team agreed to a revised one-year deal that included $15.5 million in guaranteed money, per Over the Cap.
Beck, a third-round pick, has yet to throw an NFL pass but showed flashes of promise in the preseason.
Arizona takes on the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday. The Cardinals enter with a 3-5 record but have won two of their last three games.
