Habs' Montembeault exits Game 3 with undisclosed issue
Montreal Canadiens goaltender Sam Montembeault departed Game 3 against the Washington Capitals in the second period with an undisclosed issue.
Montembeault was replaced by rookie netminder Jakub Dobes.
Coming in cold for his Stanley Cup playoff debut, Dobes made seven saves on eight shots as Montreal won 6-3 to draw within one game of tying the series.
Montembeault made 11 saves on 13 shots before exiting. The 28-year-old had a .902 save percentage and 2.80 goals-against average in 62 regular-season contests. He sported a .921 SV% entering Friday's Game 3 despite losing both clashes in Washington.
Dobes had a .909 SV% and 2.74 GAA in 16 games after being recalled in December.
Capitals starter Logan Thompson was injured later in the third period and forced out of the game.
