The Vegas Golden Knights have traded defenseman Kaedan Korczak to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for defenseman Parker Wotherspoon, the teams announced Tuesday.
The Penguins are retaining 50% of Wotherspoon's contract, bringing his cap hit down to $500,000 for the final year of his deal.
Korczak is set to enter the first season of a four-year deal that carries an average annual value of $3.25 million. As a result of the trade, Vegas gains $2.75 million in cap space ahead of free agency Wednesday.
The 25-year-old was projected to take a leap for the Golden Knights this past season but ended up being a healthy scratch for nine of Vegas' 22 playoff games.
Korczak notched 16 points in 78 games during the regular season, averaging 15:58 per contest in a third-pairing role. The 6-foot-3, right-shooting blue-liner was a second-round pick by the Golden Knights in 2019.
Wotherspoon, 28, enjoyed a breakout year for the Penguins in 2025-26, setting career highs in games played (80), points (30), and average time on ice (20:10).
