Report: White Sox, Tauchman agree to major-league deal
The Chicago White Sox agreed to a major-league deal with veteran outfielder Mike Tauchman, reports Daryl Van Schouwen of the Chicago Sun-Times.
Financials of the pact are not known.
Tauchman moves from the North Side of Chicago to the South Side after spending the past two campaigns with the Chicago Cubs.
The 34-year-old Illinois native appeared in 217 games over his two-year stint with the Cubbies, authoring a .250/.360/.372 slash line with 15 home runs, 77 RBIs, and 13 steals.
Tauchman has appeared in all three outfield spots during his seven-year career and has typically played well defensively. He's collected 22 defensive runs saved in the bigs.
He'll join a White Sox outfield rotation that consists of Andrew Benintendi, Dominic Fletcher, and Luis Robert Jr. heading into the 2025 campaign, although Robert is heavily rumored to be traded this offseason.
